How To Make A Mosaic Birdbath

So far I have posted about the design process and some of the tools I use to make a mosaic birdbath.  Here is a photo of all the tesserae put in place with mortar.

It will have to dry for at least 24 hours before I carefully begin my work on the outside of the birdbath.

The bird bath is just lovely. I love the mozaics right in the center. Can hardly wait to see the finished project!

Quick question here. I want the kids and I to make a few birdbaths for the outside and for family as gifts. We live in Oregon so the weather is wet. Where can I go to look up the basics of how to do this project, and the supplys we will need.
    Thanks

I would visit my local library and get a good book on the basics. That’s where I started — with a simple book that had easy-to-read, step-by-step instructions.

    Thanks!
